Reports of violence and sexual offences were the highest reported crime in March, according to the latest police data.

Figures from show there were a total of 5,071 crimes reported across the county in March.

Violence and sexual offences was the most reported crime - with 1,929 reports - across Somerset in March.

This was followed by anti-social behaviour which was reported 802 times in the same month.

Across the county the third highest crime was pubic order offences which received 660  reports.

Criminal damage and arson (431), shoplifting (306) and other theft (356) all received similar rates of reports throughout March in the Somerset County Council area.

The lowest reported crimes were theft from a person (9), possession of weapons (21) and robbery (29).
