THE work of twenty-nine artisans, all from the village of Milverton, were on display for one day only on Thursday June 2 as part of the village’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
There was a wide variety of work on display, ranging from beautiful hand-crafted silver jewellery, skilfully created wooden pieces, crochet, patchwork, feltwork and pottery to varied and delightful artworks, stone-carving and photography, as well as books by a trio of local authors.
There was a constant stream of visitors to the exhibition throughout the day, many of whom also took advantage of the delicious homemade cakes available in Victoria’s Café.
Also on display at the exhibition, and continuing at various times throughout the month of June, was The Queen’s Photographic Pageant – a wonderful display of photographs, compiled by Bev Blackmore, of The Queen and her family.
This was put together with photographs of Milverton celebrating the many important Royal events which have taken place during the seven decades of her reign.
The exhibition proved to be a great start to Milverton’s amazing programme of events to commemorate Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee.
