A LUXURIOUS hotel in a Grade II*-listed Regency manor house near Taunton is now on the market for £2.6 million.
The Mount Somerset Hotel & Spa in Lower Henlade is on the market with Christie & Co, a Bristol-based specialist advisor for buying hospitality and healthcare properties.
The stunning property - which is “in need of some repairs and maintenance” - is available to view on Rightmove.
The manor house has around 3.5 acres of land.
The Rightmove description of the property says: “The hotel provides 19 luxurious en-suite bedrooms, some of which come complete with hot tubs, four function rooms, a boutique spa, a bar, and a lounge.
“The hotel itself is arranged over ground and first floors under a pitched roof.
“Externally, the main building has a beautiful white wash façade with period features, whilst internally boasting high ceilings, a sweeping spiral staircase, and opulent decor.”
The hotel has been closed since April 2020.
The listing says it offers “considerable scope and opportunity for a new operator”.
The business has traded as a hotel, a wedding venue, and a restaurant with three AA Rosettes.
The property could have alternative uses subject to planning consent.
It was brought in September 2020 “with the intention of reopening the hotel following a refurbishment”.
The owner's other business interests have “have meant they have been unable to dedicate the time needed to reopening the Mount Somerset, hence it is now offered for sale”.
The hotel is located around five miles from Taunton and 10 miles from Bridgwater.
It is two miles from the M5 and is “well signposted from the A358 which links to the motorway”.
There is on-site parking for more than 50 vehicles across three car parks, and there is a groundskeeper's shed.
