ST MARGARET’S HOSPICE is on the search for families to stroll through the stunning scenery at Aldon Fields and Ninesprings on Sunday, 11 September from 1pm while asking friends and family to sponsor them.

Participants will have the chance to marvel at the beautiful woodlands and waterfalls along the 4km route and when finished will be welcomed to the St Margaret’s Yeovil hospice garden.

Everyone taking part will receive a dedication bib to decorate in memory of a loved one and a sunflower memory marker to place in the hospice garden.

Lucy Williams took part in last year’s Sunflower Stroll in memory of her father who died from pancreatic cancer in August 2021.

She said: “St Margaret’s were a big part of my father’s treatment and the care they gave him was fabulous. So, to take part and give back to the hospice makes us feel better and hopefully helps other families like ours.”

Sponsorship raised by Sunflower Stroll participants will go directly towards helping people across the county.

£50 could pay for a patient spending a day at St Margaret’s Sunflower Centre Day Hospice where they can meet people in similar situations, receive important symptom control, and provide crucial respite for carers.

Registration for the Sunflower Stroll is currently at the early bird price of just £5.

Participants can upgrade their ticket to include a glass of prosecco or a cream tea box to enjoy on the beautiful grounds of the Yeovil Hospice.
