PATIENTS hoping to book an appointment to see their GP at a Somerset surgery have been asked to call back next week due to a Covid outbreak among NHS staff there.

Anyone with an urgent enquiry will be able to get through to a receptionist, but are warned there will be a delay.

A recorded message to patients calling Wells Health Centre says: "Due to an outbreak of Covid at Wells Health Centre, there will be a significant delay in answering your call today."

Non-urgent callers are asked to call back next week.

The message from the practice in Priory Health Park, Glastonbury Road, adds: "We're very sorry for this disruption to our services."
