GLASTONBURY headliner Sir Paul McCartney has sold out a warm-up gig for the festival in under an hour.

The rock legend will be on stage from 5pm tomorrow night at the Cheese & Grain in Frome.

The live music venue announced the gig earlier this afternoon, selling tickets on a first come first serve basis in person from their box office. In under an hour they were sold out.

Locals flocked to the venue to get their tickets and as you can see below, the queue went around the block.

The Cheese & Grain said: "In 24 hours time from now Paul McCartney will be performing live, here in Frome, at the Cheese and Grain.

"What an incredible opportunity to watch Paul warm up for his Glastonbury headlining performance this weekend. What an amazing treat. We are told this won’t be his normal set either so should be an afternoon full of wonderful surprises."

Sir Paul McCartney will become Glastonbury Festival’s oldest ever solo headliner when he takes to the stage this weekend.

Speaking during rehearsals, he quipped that most of the audience “have paid good money, have brought their mums and dads” and do not want to hear his “deep cuts”.

Sir Paul’s performance is expected to attract an especially large crowd and could rival those of The Rolling Stones in 2013 and Adele in 2016.

The people who managed to get tickets to his show in Frome are truly lucky.
