KING'S College, Taunton are through to final’s day of the National Schools T20 competition after beating Bradfield College by seven wickets in the south west final that was played at Clifton College on Monday.

After being put into bat King’s were given a great start by openers Charlie S and James Rew who added 80 for the first wicket before Charlie was out for 32 which came off 30 balls with two fours and a six.

New batsman George Thomas came into bat and shared a partnership of 70 with the opener until Rew was was dismissed for 63 which he scored fro 44 deliveries with three fours and five sixes.

George was joined by younger brother Josh and together the siblings took the total onto 187 when Josh was out for 16.

The elder of brothers was out shortly after for 70 which he scored off just 34 balls with five fours and as many sixes, soon after which the innings closed with King’s posting 191 for five from their 20 overs.

When Bradfield replied Charlie and George disposed of the openers before a third wicket partnership of 54 saw the total onto 75.

Wickets then started to tumble and Bradfield were eventually bowled out for 120 in the 19th overs, James M was the pick of the bowlers with three for 24 from his four overs, while Josh ended two for 12.

King’s now move onto Finals Day where they meet Whitgift in the semi final at Arundel on Sunday where they hope to go one better than they did last year losing narrowly in the final.

The team consists of James M, William B, Finley H, Harry P, Josh T, Josh C, Charlie S, Toby P, Lucas D B, James Rew (captain), George Thomas and Josh C.

They are coached by Phil Lewis director of sport and Rob Woodman the head of cricket.
