A TAUNTON man has been fined after he was caught driving at 76mph on a stretch of the A38 with a 50mph speed limit.
Joseph Francis Raucki, of Beverley Close, was caught speeding in a Ford on December 9, 2021 near Thurloxton (between Taunton and North Petherton).
Raucki, 71, pleaded guilty under the single justice procedure on Wednesday, June 22.
The procedure allows people charged with minor offences to have their cases decided by a single magistrate on the basis of papers alone without going to court.
He was fined £404 by a magistrate in Bath and ordered to pay £90 in court costs and a £40 surcharge to fund victim services.
He has until August 10 to pay his £534 court bill.
Raucki was also handed six penalty points.
Court documents say his guilty plea was “taken into account when imposing sentence”.
