Petrol prices in Taunton have soared by around 30p per litre in the past three months.

In April, the cheapest station was Texaco Greenway Road (Greenway filling station), which was charging 154.9p per litre at the time, according to petrolprices.com.

But as of today, that same station is charging 185.9p per litre, an increase of 31p.

Many other petrol stations across the town and surrounding areas have also increased their prices.

We can also see the price surge in just a single month. Morrisons Taunton station, was charging 175.7p in June. Now, in July, this has risen to 189.7p, an increase of 14p.

The cost of petrol is a great concern for many local people who are already struggling due to the cost-of-living crisis.

These new high prices are caused by a number of factors including the post-pandemic demand for fuel, as well as the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
