YOUNG people in Wellington will be able to attend free course to learn martial arts and personal safety skills.
Wellington Neighbourhood Policing Team has secured funding for the summer holiday courses for seven to 14-year-olds living in the area.
Blaze Martial Arts are running hour-long sessions over six weeks.
The classes will culminate in a grading where participants will be able to demonstrate the skills learnt in order to achieve a certificate and their red belt.
Applicants must be available to attend all six of the arranged classes - unfortunately, if you are going away on holiday during the summer and will miss any of the date, you will not be able to apply.
All children will be expected to pay £10 which will be refunded on successful completion of the course. Failure to complete the course will result in forfeiture of the deposit.
The sessions are in Court Fields School sports hall from 4pm to 5pm on Tuesdays July 26 and August 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30.
