A YEOVIL home that has 27 en-suite bedrooms for elderly residents has been sold to a care group.

The Rose Care Group has acquired Beechwood House, located on West Coker Road in a residential part of the town.

Beechwood House has been owned by Rita Gibb since 1998 and has recently been run by Adrian Rogers, her son-in-law.

Rita is now planning to retire, and Adrian and his wife are looking to pursue other interests away from the care sector.

They instructed specialist business property advisor Christie & Co to market the home on their behalf.

After a confidential, targeted marketing campaign which resulted in significant interest and multiple offers being received, a sale was agreed to Paul Nery of Rose Care Group.

The sale has seen Beechwood House become Paul's eighth home.

Adrian said: “As a family, we are proud of Beechwood House and the home we created for our residents.

“It is important to us that the new owner will build on the values and care Beechwood House stands for and, with Paul Nery and the Rose Care Group, we are reassured this will continue. We wish Paul and all of the staff the very best wishes for the future.”

Paul said: “I am proud to welcome Beechwood House, all the residents and staff into the Rose Care Group family.

“It is a beautiful home that puts the care of the residents front and centre. The whole team and I look forward to building on the excellent standards already in place.”

Beechwood House received a ‘good’ rating following its latest inspection by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) in January 2020.

The home comprises 27 en-suite bedrooms, numerous day rooms, bathrooms, ancillary space, and an attractive enclosed courtyard with lawn, planting, and patio areas.

Simon Harvey, senior director in Christie & Co’s south west healthcare team, who handled the sale, said: “The home’s excellent reputation, combined with its strong trading performance and the single storey accommodation, made it an attractive proposition in which we were able to generate strong interest with bids from a wide range of parties, both existing operators and new entrants.

“Ultimately, Paul’s bid was successful, and we are delighted to have assisted the continued growth of Rose Care Group and enabled Rita to retire and Adrian to move onto the next chapter in his life.”
