AFTER three pre-season fixtures, Taunton Town's squad is starting to come together for their first endeavour in the National League South.

New signings, contract extensions and youth players have all played their part so far in the pre-season and the team looks ready to go.

Head of football and manager Rob Dray has said he is excited with where the team is at.

"I think we are ahead of expectation at the moment, the fitness of levels of the players are good, maybe one or two could be a little better, but as a whole we are in a good place.

"The new lads have come in and gelled pretty quickly, Dan Ball has been fantastic as have the two new strikers. We have made some good acquisitions.

"Loads of good things at the moment and these friendlies are putting us in good stead for August 6, but we have some good numbers here at the moment which is something we haven't had for the last few years. I am very pleased."

Up next, Taunton Town take on Helston Athletic at home on Friday night.
