TAUNTON Flower Show is set to return to Vivary Park this weekend - and there will be plenty for children and families to do.

The flower show will take place on Friday, August 5 (10:30am to 6pm) and Saturday, August 6 (9:30am to 6pm).

Free children's activities will run on both days until 5pm in the Children's Village area.

Family-friendly entertainment will include comedy magic shows, big games for little people, Bubble Faerie face painting, and a display from BubbleMan.

The Somerset County Scouts, who are due to attend the World Scout Jamboree in South Korea next year, will host parachute games in the arena.

The parachute games will take place at 11:15am and 2:30pm on Friday, and 10:30am and 2:15pm on Saturday.

East Reach-based arts and crafts project Inspire will put on a series of workshops, while Tops Day Nurseries will provide hands-on activities for young children.

There will also be a Ready Steady Garden competition.

Parents will be able to feed and change their babies safely and discreetly in the Taunton midwives and nursing mothers' tent.

Timings will be advertised at the entrance to the Children's Village. Bookings for workshop and activity sessions will be made available during both days.

Children aged 17 and under can attend for free with a paying adult. Tickets can be bought in advance at tauntonfs.co.uk.
