PUPILS at Cheddon Fitzpaine Church School have been raising money for good causes.

The school council, supported by Class 5 teacher Joe Godfrey, has organised and run a number of events throughout the school year

Among the events put on by the council, made of of eight members from all classes in the school and elected by their peers, have been pumpkin carving competitions, break the rules day, Christmas movie night, school council logo competition and most recently a summer fair.

The initiatives have managed to raise around £750.

Mr Godfrey said: "The council had decided at the start of the year to support the Love Musgrove charity and we are fortunate to be able to donate £500 which will be used in the hospital's Children's Ward.

"The remaining £250 will be used to implement a team of children to help maintain the school environment with litter pickers and all the safety equipment as well as new playground bins."
