NYNEHEAD Court’s head gardener Justin Cole has been presented with a silver trowel to mark 10 years' participation in the National Garden Scheme (NGS) Open Gardens.
The presentation was made by Marsha Casey, NGS assistant county organiser, in recognition of the Grade 2* listed home’s regular opening of its grounds while raising money for the NGS’ charitable causes.
It was made during Nynehead Court’s second Open Gardens event of the year.
The home’s NGS Open Gardens events are always well-attended by gardens enthusiasts eager to see the venue's 14 acres during different seasons.
The two events held in June and July attracted many visitors and raised more than £600.
Home manager Joanne Fenn said: “The NGS Open Gardens events are a regular feature of the Nynehead Court calendar, and we were delighted to once again support the NGS and its wonderful causes.
"The silver trowel is a wonderful and very welcome gift and will be proudly displayed.”
The Nynehead Court Estate offers retirement living for people requiring residential care or close care housing.
