CHILDREN in Years 5 and 6 at St John’s Primary School, Wellington, have enjoyed an amazing few days at Wildside Experience Camp on the Blackdown Hills.
They had three-fun filled days exploring the woods, river walking, hiking, swimming in the river, feeding chickens, sheep and pigs, zip lining, archery, orienteering, midnight walks using only the light of glow sticks for guidance, watching out for owls and bats, making s'mores and a number of team games.
As well as all the amazing activities put on by the Wildside leaders, the pupils enjoyed home cooked dinners and cakes, helping in the kitchen and camping with their friends and teachers.
A school spokesperson said: "The children were incredible and tried all activities even though some were nervous - including the staff.
"They came back slightly grubby, very sleepy but with many happy memories of their time away."
