A MAN found “with injuries” has died in a Somerset village, the police have confirmed.
Police officers were called to Somerton Road in Street shortly after 9am yesterday (Sunday) morning, and the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officers are treating his death as unexplained but do not believe the circumstances were suspicious.
Somerton Road was closed yesterday morning while several police vehicles and an ambulance were in attendance.
An Avon and Somerset Police spokesperson said: “At just after 9am on Sunday, July 24, officers were called to attend an incident in which a man was found with injuries in Somerton Road, Street.
“Sadly, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
“At this time, the man’s death is being treated as unexplained but there are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances.
“Officers will now prepare a file to submit to the Coroner’s Office.”
