A POPULAR Somerset beer festival has returned after a three-year hiatus with live music, gourmet street food, and more than 50 beers and ciders.
Quantock Brewery held its 2022 Beerfest on Friday, July 22 and Saturday, July 23 in Bishops Lydeard near Taunton.
Alongside a “huge selection of cask beer, craft keg beer, and cider”, Beerfest offered punters woodfired pizzas, a hog roast, curries, burgers and loaded fries, and pancakes.
There was also fresh coffee and cakes from Taunton tearoom Mr Miles, which sponsored the event.
Live music was provided by Snappa, Vinyl Avengers, Hugills Crew, Station 2 Station, and Luis Martello.
Beerfest raised money for this year's chosen charity PAPYRUS, which is dedicated to the prevention of suicide and the promotion of positive mental health in young people.
PAPYRUS also had a stall at the festival on both days and provided information about the charity and its work.
A small batch beer was also made for the festival, with £1 of every pint sold being donated to PAPYRUS. There was also a hamper raffle in aid of the charity.
One attendee, who arrived at Beerfest on the West Somerset Railway network, tweeted: “What an amazing day! A steam train to a Beerfest, it doesn't get much better... Quantock Brewery, your beers have been top notch! Thank you!”
After the event, Mr Miles wrote on their Facebook page: “Thank you, Cheryl and Quantock Brewery team for a great event! We can’t wait to see you next year!”
