POLICE had some advice for thieves after pulling over a stolen vehicle in Taunton yesterday (Sunday, July 31).
The vehicle aroused suspicion when it flagged up on the police system as being stolen.
It turned out that the stolen vehicle had been cloned - using the registration details of another stolen vehicle.
Officers from Avon and Somerset Police roads policing team took to social media to report: "Vehicle stopped Taunton due to #stovec (stolen vehicle) marker.
"Enquiries found original 'stolen' car had been found by owner.
"However ours was examined, found to be an outstanding stovec on false plates. Words fail us."
They added: "Top tips: Don't clone your stolen vehicle with another...stolen vehicle."
