POLICE are appealing for witnesses after an elderly man was attacked at a recreation ground.
The assault took place in the play park at the Memorial Ground, in Watchet, home to the town's football and cricket teams.
The incident took place in the Govier's Lane facility on Sunday (July 31) between 7pm and 7.30pm.
A spokesperson for Minehead and West Somerset Neighbourhood Policing team said: "Witnesses are being sought for an assault on an elderly male at the Memorial Ground play park in Watchet between 1900hrs - 1930hrs on 31st July 2022.
"If you do have any information please call 101 and leave details for PC Spierenburg with reference 5222182818."
