THE lunchtime concert at St John’s Church, Taunton on Friday will have the audience toe-tapping along with the music that comes from Somerset and Beyond.

The Arquebus Trio is well known in the West Country for its performances at festivals and concerts.

The trio is a folk band based in Devon and Somerset made up of Alex on fiddle, Sarah on bass and mandolin, and Sam on bouzouki.

Their repertoire is a mixture of traditional tunes and songs, all arranged in their own style as well as more contemporary folk songs written by them.

The concert will start at the usual time of 12.46pm on Friday, August 12, and will last for 45minutes.

The retiring collection will be divided between St Margaret’s Hospice and St John’s Church.

A concert will also take place on Sunday afternoon, August 14.

The refreshing tenor voice of Gregory Steward can be enjoyed again in a different programme, at St John’s, at 3.30pm.

He has drawn his programme from the Musicals, and Operettas. His soprano sister, Ellen has accepted his invitation to join him as his guest to sing some much-loved duets such as “Edelweiss”.
