A WELLINGTON man has been sentenced for assaulting a woman by beating.
Allan William Rogers, 52, was given a 12-month community order when he appeared at Weymouth Magistrates' Court on Friday (August 5).
Rogers, 52, whose address was given in court as Penny Close, Wellington, was also ordered to carry out 100 hours of unpaid work.
And he must pay £125 compensation to his victim, as well as a £95 victim surcharge and £650 towards court costs.
The incident took place in Bridport on October 8 last year.
Rogers had denied the charge but was found guilty of the offence following a trial in May.
