FIRE crews tackled a fire in a field in Shepton Mallet yesterday evening.
Four fire engines attended the incident, which damaged 70 per cent of the field, Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said.
Crews were on the scene this morning too (Saturday, August 13) to reinspect the area for hotspots.
The cause of the fire is believed to be accidental.
A spokesperson said: “We arrived at 5.35pm with four fire engines to a fire in a field 100m x 100m approx. 70 per cent damaged by fire.
“We used three hose reel jets and beaters. Crews have reinspected this morning for hotspots. All good. The incident is now closed and was accidental.”
