AFTER the prolonged dry spell, we're all looking forward to some wet weather.
But it's going to take more than a drop of rain to replenish Wimbleball Lake.
Chris Haig was alarmed by how low the water level had dropped when he drove past the reservoir on Exmoor yesterday (Sunday, August 14) and stopped to take a few pictures
He contacted the County Gazette today (Monday) and said: "It's nice to finally have a bit of rain this morning.
"Driving past Wimbleball Lake yesterday I took some photos of how low the lake had become.
"I have never see the level so low."
Fortunately, in contrast to many other areas of the country, a drought is unlikely to be officially declared in in this part of Somerset.
And our water supplier, Wessex Water, has said it has no plans to impose a hosepipe ban.
