THE site manager at a Wiveliscombe housing development has won a top national accolade.

Ross Pearson won a Pride in the Job Quality Award from the National House Building Council for his role at Barratt Homes' Elworthy Place.

Ross, who joined the company following a career in the Royal Marines, said: "I’m absolutely delighted to have won this award.

"Ever since I joined Barratt as a trainee on the Armed Forces Transition Programme, I have strived to progress upwards through the company.

"This award is recognition of the hard work that the entire team here at Elworthy Place have put in.”

Andrew Spicer, managing director for Barratt Homes Exeter, said: “We want to make our customers happy by building high quality homes for them.

"We continually invest in our site managers and our teams and support them to achieve this award that recognises the best new homes and well-run sites.

"We’re extremely proud of our record having won more of these awards than any other housebuilder for 18 years in a row – this means every customer who buys a home built by a site manager who has won a Pride in the Job Quality award can have confidence that their property is of the highest possible standard.”

Elworthy Place is a new community in Wiveliscombe of two-, three- and four-bedroom homes, complete with a play area, an orchard and plenty of open space.
