POLICE are trying to piece together details of how a quad bike rider came to be injured on a village road.
The rider was discovered with what is believed to be "a serious head injury" following a single-vehicle collision this morning (Saturday, August 20).
They were taken to hospital for treatment.
The incident happened at the junction of the B3224 and the B3188 in Lydeard St Lawrence, near Bishops Lydeard and about eight miles from Taunton.
The road was closed for a period but has since reopened.
An Avon and Somerset Police spokesperson said: "We are appealing for any witnesses, or anyone with dashcam footage which may assist our enquiries, to contact us on 101 and quote reference number 5222200611."
