THE new landlords of a Taunton pub due to reopen next week have laid down a few ground rules.

Customers will be able to see for themselves the changes following £400,000 improvement works.

Ryan has worked in the industry for 37 years as a manager/owner and as an entertainer.

Justin has been in the trade for 15 years as a manager/owner and a chef.

"We have a wealth of experience and hope we can demonstrate that to you," said Ryan.

He added: "We want The Shep's to be a relaxed, friendly place for all ages and people from all walks of life. Everyone will get treated the same.

"However drugs, violence and rudeness to our team will not be tolerated."

Dogs will be welcome apart from in the dining area, and children will be allowed in until 8pm while meals are being served.

Simon Peacock as kitchen manager and the pub boasts Sky Sports and BT Sports, along with an extensive entertainments programme, including the return of the Thursday night quiz.

Ryan added: "This is your pub that we run for the community, so thank you for allowing me to waffle and layout a bit about us and what we are doing and we look forward to seeing you very soon."
