A VILLAGE community has been left shocked after explicit graffiti was daubed on the wall of the local church.

A group of people posted on social media they found graffiti on the walls of the All Saints’ Church in Norton Fitzwarren.

The graffiti was discovered by some residents on the morning of Friday, September 2.

One of them included an FTS tag while more explicit graffiti was covered up.

The rector of the church, Reverend Paul Irving, said it was a shame that people felt the need to vandalise the walls of the ancient building.

He also added that residents are offering their help to clean up the graffiti.
