A TAUNTON pub landlord is opening another bar and venue in the county town this week.
Gareth Field plans to pull the first pints at the Egg Basket, at 61 High Street, on Wednesday (September 14).
The venue is opening in the former Light Bib, which later became The Perfect Fifth, but has been vacant for a number of years.
Initially only the top bar will be open as work is completed downstairs.
The bar will be adults only.
Mr Field is well known as the landlord of the Victoria Gate pub in East Reach.
Commenting on the name of the new bar, he said: "I see it as though I'm putting all my eggs in one basket by opening my own pub and live venue."
