THE M5 carriageway northbound between Junction 26 Wellington and Junction 25 Taunton is set to be closed overnight on September 14.

National Highways has confirmed the closure is for resurfacing work on the carriageway and it is set to start at 9pm, running until 5am tomorrow, Thursday, September 15.

A spokesperson for National Highways has said: "We can confirm National Highways will be carrying out overnight resurfacing work on the northbound M5 between junctions 26 and 25."

A diversion on the A38 and A358 will be in place while the M5 is closed.

National Highways has said: "The northbound carriageway will be closed between junction 26 (Wellington) and junction 25 (Taunton) from 9pm to 5am.

"Traffic will be diverted via the A38 and A358 to rejoin the M5 northbound at junction 25."
