VOLUNTEERS are being sought for a driver service that will transport community members to appointments and help them with other activities in Street.

The new Street Volunteer Driver Service is based at the Crispin Community Centre, Leigh Road.

The service is recruiting drivers to help people who are unable to get around easily by taking them to doctors, hair and other appointments.

They would also drive them to social groups, community centre or church activities, other social events, and to the shops.

A spokesperson for the service said: “Do you have an hour or two to spare with a car?

“We would like to hear from you – volunteers with a car are needed & a mileage allowance is paid.

“This will be totally flexible with no fixed commitment you can choose which journeys to take at anytime online.”
