STOKE St Gregory primary school is celebrating after raising £8,579 for young people in the community on the dance floor.
Taunton MP Jeremy Browne presented the cheques to the main beneficiaries at a school assembly.
Mr Browne said: "Stoke St Gregory has a very successful primary school which I have visited on many occasions.
"The new classroom block is a wonderful additional facility which is also in keeping with the original school building.
"The Anniversary Ball in the grounds of Stoke St Gregory primary school was attended by over 300 people.
"It is a remarkable achievement for a small school with just 68 pupils to raise £8,579.
"The allocation of the money has recently been decided and the main share is helping to fund the new classroom development.
"Other organisations benefiting are the Willow Set pre-school, the youth club, the youth theatre group and a small amount is being donated to the local playing field.
"I enjoyed presenting the cheques and having the opportunity to celebrate the fundraising for young people in Stoke St Gregory."
