PEOPLE in Rockwell Green on low incomes are now able to source food at a knock down price following the opening of a Best Before Store.
The community food delivery project has been supported by Somerset West and Taunton Council and is the third food delivery project to launch in the area.
It follows similar initiatives at the Rowbarton Food Pantry, in Taunton, and the West Somerset Food Cupboard, in Minehead.
Members can pay £4 a week to access food that would cost between £15 and £20 in shops.
As well as this, they have information on support services, children's activities, a social area, and will even have events such as cookery demonstrations.
Cllr Chris Booth, who attended the launch alongside the Mayor of Wellington Cllr Mark Lithgow and county councillor Andy Govier, said: "It was truly an honour to see the hard work that has happened to get to this point, being led by dedicated volunteers with the community at heart.
"This is a template to be used in other parts of our district as the cost of living crisis bites further.”
