A FOURTEEN-year-old boy has appeared at a youth court in Taunton accused of stabbing a member of the public at the weekend.

The accused, whose address was given as a village near Taunton but who cannot be named for legal reasons, denied carrying two knives and using one to stab his victim in the arm.

The court was told he committed the alleged offence in Moorland Road, Taunton, on Saturday (September 24), in breach of the provisions of an anti-social behaviour injunction imposed on him on August 23.

The court also heard that he had broken bail conditions by being in the company of a named person in Moorland Road during a curfew period.

He denied that charge, but it was proven by the court.

The case, which was heard yesterday (Monday, September 26), was adjourned until Friday (September 30), when the youth must appear at Yeovil Magistrates' Court.

An order imposed by the court prohibits the publication of his name, address, school or anything else that may identify him and lasts until he reaches the age of 18.

At the same hearing, the youngster was also accused of stealing four electric mopeds valued at £3,000 in Taunton on February 23, which he denied.

He was remanded to a youth detention accommodation
