PEOPLE in the Comeytrowe area of Taunton are being warned of possible traffic disruption over a number of weeks.
Wessex Water staff will be carrying out work to connect the sewer system at the Orchard Grove housing development currently under construction to the public network.
The scheme will involve road closures at various locations over an estimated 40 days.
The dates of the work have not yet been finalised, but people and businesses in the area will be contacted by Wessex Water.
A spokesperson for the company said: “This project will carry out essential work on the sewer system to allow connection of the new Comeytrowe development to the public network.
"Work will take place at a number of locations, including Newbarn Park Road, with only those sections of road being worked on as the scheme progresses being closed at any one time.
“We are currently working with Somerset County Council to agree a programme that will ensure the project can be completed safely while causing a minimum amount of disruption to the local community and will be writing to residents and businesses in the area with the full details as soon as this has been finalised.’’
