A TAUNTON restaurant has been handed a new four-out-of-five food hygiene rating.

Boston Tea Party, at 21a Fore Street, Taunton, Somerset was given the score after assessment on Thursday, September 6, the Food Standards Agency's website shows.

This means that of Somerset West and Taunton's 274 restaurants, cafes, and canteens with ratings, 211 (77 per cent) have ratings of five and none have zero ratings.

The restaurant’s Facebook page shows a 4.7 out of five rating, while Uber Eats shows a 4.6 (out of five).

Some Google reviews written by customers read: “Nice place, reasonably priced food, and drinks and lovely staff.”

Another customer rated the restaurant five out of five and said: “Chefs know their stuff, well cooked and served quickly.”

Another five-out-of-five review said: “Loads of tables, fair prices, and super friendly stuff.”

The total number of reviews left by customers on Google is 264 with a total score of 4.4 out of five.
