THREE people have been taken to hospital after a crash east of Taunton.
The collision took place this morning (Friday, October 28) on the A358 at its junction with the A378 near Thornfalcon at 10.10am.
An Avon and Somerset Police spokesperson said: “Emergency services were called to a collision on the A358 at its junction with the A378 near Thornfalcon at 10.10am today, Friday 28 October.
"A Range Rover was in collision with a Ford Ranger which was towing a trailer and the traffic lights were damaged.
"Paramedics attended and took a number of people to hospital. No one is believed to have sustained life-threatening or life-changing injuries."
A spokesperson for the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT) said: “We were called at 10.15am to a road traffic collision east of Taunton. We sent an operations officer and three double-crewed land ambulances, and conveyed three patients to Musgrove Park Hospital.”
Earlier today motorists were urged to avoid the area pending the recovery of the vehicles and repairs to the traffic lights at the junction.
The road has now been cleared, as reported by Travel Somerset on Twitter.
