ROAD closures lasting 24 hours a day for a 22-day period have been announced in an area near Bishops Lydeard.

Somerset County Council has publicised an order outlining the planned closures in the Combe Florey area of the West Bagborough ward.

They are scheduled to probably take place from Tuesday, November 29, lasting until Tuesday, December 20.

It will enable Airband Community Internet to carry out work to install new underground tracks and overhead cabling.

The areas involved are:

  • New Road, from its junction with Williton Road, north eastwards for 1,027 metres;
  • Nethercott Lane, from its junction with Williton Road, south westwards for 624 metres;
  • Combe Tower Lane, from its junction with Nethercott Lane, south eastwards for 1,838 metres;
  • Combe Florey Lane, from its junction with Tower Lane, southwards for 212 metres;
  • Nethercott Lane, from its junction with Lydeard Down Hill, westwards for 6,002 metres.
