A CHARITY that offers riding opportunities for children has received a £4,000 boost.
The Conquest Centre has built a patio and outside area adjacent to classroom based log cabins providing a sensory room, yurt and space for creative arts.
The centre, which is based outside Norton Fitzwarren and helps children with emotional and social needs, received the money to fund the patio from the Rotary Club of Taunton.
The new area ensures disability access and provides a safe outdoor space.
The Conquest Centre has supported children for more than 50 years, using small animals and ponies in a safe, stimulating and open environment to help each child develop and thrive.
James Holyday, chairman of the charity, said: ‘It is because of donations such as this from Taunton Rotary that we can do so much for children and families that can benefit from our resources and expertise.
"Our site is very large, comprising animal enclosures, a woodland area, riding ring, open space, cafe, and classrooms.
"This patio space ensures that the log cabins are accessible to all and adds more potential to what we can do for everyone."
The money was raised from the Rotary Christmas Pop-up Shop in Taunton town centre last year and a concert at Temple Methodist Church.
