THE PEOPLE of Taunton will not have to walk 500 miles next Summer to enjoy live music as Live in Somerset is returning to Vivary Park.

If you hadn't worked out, headlining the Saturday evening are Scottish legends, The Proclaimers, who will take to the stage on August 26 in Taunton’s Vivary Park.

Twin brothers Craig and Charlie are famously known worldwide for smash hit ‘I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles)’, released back in 1988, as well as ‘I’m On My Way’ and ‘Letter From America’ to name only but a few.

LCC Live have also announced a long list of guests who will be joining The Proclaimers, and first up is British rock band The Feeling.

The singers of ‘Fill My Little World’ and ‘Love It When You Call’ spent the month of October completing their first UK tour in four years, following the release of their sixth studio album ‘Loss. Hope. Love’ back in May of this year.

What’s more, Keavy and Edele, alongside bandmates Sinéad and Lindsay - better known as iconic Irish pop-band B Witched - will be tasked with getting the crowd well and truly warmed up!

Their platinum chart-topping tune ‘C’est La Vie’ was just one of four B*Witched singles to reach number one in the UK charts, alongside ‘Blame It On The Weatherman’, ‘To You I Belong’ and ‘Rollercoaster’.

Also on the line-up is 90s indie-pop band Dodgy, known for tracks ‘Staying Out For The Summer’ and ‘Good Enough’- which is officially one of the most played tracks on British radio in the last 25 years.

Next year is the 27th Anniversary of Dodgy’s best-selling album, ‘Free Peace Sweet’, and they’ll be sure to celebrate in style with the Live In Somerset crowd!

Scottish singer-songwriter Sandi Thom rounds up the diverse list of special guests. It has been 16 years since her first single ‘I Wish I Was A Punk Rocker’ shot to number one in seven different countries, with Thom currently working on her seventh studio album ‘Wanderlust’, set for release in early 2023.

This is the first line-up to be announced for the Live In Somerset 2023 Bank Holiday weekend, with future nights still to be confirmed by organisers.

Tickets for the Saturday of Live in Somerset go on sale at 9am on Friday December 9 and are available to purchase from Ticketline (www.ticketline.co.uk) and instore from Taunton Visitor Centre on Fore Street.
