McFly have announced they are coming to Taunton for a one-off summer show, as part of Live in Somerset.

The band, made up of Tom Fletcher, Dougie Poynter, Danny Jones and Harry Judd, will headline on bank holiday Monday, August 28 at Vivary Park, Taunton.

The announcement follows the band’s return to touring in 2019 with their comeback show at London’s O2 which sold out in just seconds, and a successful year of playing a number of UK summer festivals in 2021 and 2022. 2023 is set to be another great year for McFly, with the release of their highly anticipated seventh studio album and more dates confirmed for live performances.

McFly were due to perform at Live in Somerset in summer 2020, but unfortunately due the global pandemic, the event was cancelled.

The band confirmed they were devastated at the time and always vowed to return to Taunton – and 2023 will be that year.

Independent concert promoter, LCC Live, is bringing McFly to Somerset as part of its Live in Somerset bank holiday weekend of music. Director Claire Kidger commented: “We cannot wait to return to Vivary Park next summer. This is another coup for us, confirming McFly - one of the greatest bands of its generation, to perform at our popular weekend of live music.

"We’re delighted they’ll finally be able to join us in one of the most beautiful outdoor concert venues after the 2020 cancellation, we’re looking forward to giving McFly the welcome they deserve!”

The four-piece band are promising fans an amazing night featuring recently hits from their latest album, Young Dumb Thrills, as well as some of their iconic hits from over the years, such as All About You; 5 Colours in Her Hair; Obviously and Shine A Light.

Also announced today are special guests Megan McKenna and Callum Beattie, joining McFly in Taunton and set to well and truly warm up the crowd.

Singer, songwriter and TV personality Megan McKenna is known for her country-style power vocals and spent the summer of 2021 supporting the legendary Tom Jones on tour.

Scottish singer Callum Beattie is known for hits such as Salamander Street and Heart Stops Beating, and has recently supported Amy Macdonald on tour.

Tickets for McFly go on sale on Friday 16th December 2022 at 9am and are available to purchase from www.ticketline.co.uk or from Taunton Visitor Centre on Fore Street.
