POLICE in a village near Taunton have seized a car suspected of being used by a number of people for "criminal activity"

Officers confiscated the vehicle in Cotford St Luke yesterday morning (Sunday, December 18).

The Taunton Neighbourhood Policing and Wellington Neighbourhood Policing teams worked together on the operation by sharing intelligence relating to so-called 'community vehicles' being used in and around the county town.

Officers had been made aware of the suspected community vehicle, which was located in the village.

DVLA powers were used to remove the car for no tax.

A Wellington Neighbourhood Policing team spokesperson said: "We will continue to disrupt this type of activity and we want to thank members of the community for sharing information.

"If you suspect a vehicle is being used for criminal activity please contact your local neighbourhood policing team so they can investigate further."
