ALL roads will lead to Taunton Racecourse on Friday 30th December where they host their Christmas Meeting when the first race on the card which boasts a whopping prize fund of £86,600 is due off at 12.45pm.
This is always the biggest and best attended meeting of the year and ha=s become a regular fixture on the festive season’s social calendar so the advice to anyone who is going along the the meeting is purchase tickets on-line in advance and take advantage of the discounts on offer and be certain to arrive well ahead of the start to avoid any disappointment.
The most valuable race on the card is The Byerley Stud Mares’ Novices’Hurdle Race at 2.15pm which is a Class One event, over two miles and half a furlong and has a prize purse of £22k up for grabs.
This is followed by The Newton King Handicap Hurdle a Class Three race over just shy of three miles which has over £13k on offer.
The Longest race of the day is The Stables Business Park Handicap Steeple Chase over more than three miles and two furlongs at 3.15pm.
Generous discounts are on offer for group booking and anyone who books their tickets on-line in advance before 12 noon on the day prior to racing.
A courtesy coach service picks up from outside platform 5 of Taunton railway Station 90 minutes before the off and returns half an hour after the start of the last.
