The 'Here All Year' campaign, aimed at highlighting Somerset as a visitor destination, has now been launched.

The goal is to showcase all the county has to offer over the quiet winter months and, ultimately, support the tourism and hospitality industries that people depend on.

Somerset’s five councils, (the County Council and four District Councils at Mendip, Sedgemoor, Somerset West & Taunton, and South Somerset) are working alongside Visit Somerset and Visit Exmoor to deliver the marketing campaign.

The project will feature a series of films which will illustrate the natural beauty of these locations.

One Voice Media, a digital marketing and communications organisation, will promote the short films on social media to attract a varied audience.

Councillor Val Keitch, executive lead member for prosperity, said: “This new campaign is essential to supporting local businesses in what is a challenging time for so many, especially the hospitality and tourism sectors. These sectors are the backbone of the regional community, and supporting this community is essential to growth.”

Giles Adams, chair of Visit Somerset adds: “By highlighting all we have to offer here in Somerset to new audiences, we hope to attract first time visitors and look forward to seeing our returning visitors too.”

Emma Thomasson, CEO of Visit Exmoor said: “Exmoor has so much to offer throughout the year and highlighting that we’re here all year with something for everyone is a key focus for us."

Attractions in Exmoor includes the Valley of the Rocks, Dunster Castle and Tarr Steps. More information can be found here.

The campaign will run throughout the winter until March 2023.
