A FAMILY self storage firm is open for business in premises on the outskirts of Wellington.

Fox Group is trading out of Summerfield's Bock 5Z premises, officially opened just before Christmas on the the Westpark 26 development.

Fox Group has taken occupation alongside Chudley International Removals, which has relocated from Ilminster.

The move to the 15,200sq ft warehouse and storage facility is part of Fox Group’s expansion plans and has created and retained 30 skilled and semi-skilled jobs, while providing self-storage to meet local and regional demand.

Summerfield's commercial director Ben Trickey said: “The creation of jobs is always a welcome part of any new commercial development, enhancing the local economy further and enabling the continued growth of the Fox Group.

Fox Group was founded in 1971 and the latest development, its eighth site in the UK, was confirmed during the company’s 50th year of trading as a family business.

Managing director Paul Fox said: “Having taken the completed building back in August last year, I am pleased to have opened the new facility, a very high specification new build on the prestigious and growing site of Westpark 26.”

Westpark 26 has established itself as a prime modern business park, with a range of amenities, serving the Wellington/Taunton area and the wider M5 corridor.

The 300,000sq ft site features industrial warehouses, distribution depots, workshops, trade counters, offices and small employment units with planning consent in place for further uses including logistics, manufacturing and health, as well as frontage and roadside options.

The business park boasts a range of existing amenities including a 60-bed Travelodge hotel, Skylark pub, Shell service station with a Budgens convenience store and Subway, in addition to Costa and McDonald’s restaurants, both with drive-thru facilities.

Summerfield is working on the next terraced units on Westpark, with sizes ranging from approximately 1,800sq ft up to around 18,800sq ft - and is currently registering interested parties.

Available to rent now is Unit D1 (2,576 sq ft), Block D, opposite McDonald's and close to Screwfix, Toolstation and Riverford.
