FIREFIGHTERS rescued a baby from a vehicle stranded in flood water just outside Taunton.
Crews were called to the scene near Creech St Michael to reports of a vehicle coming to a halt in a flood following heavy rain yesterday (Saturday, January 14).
The team from Taunton Fire Station donned flood suits and took up wading poles to reach the vehicle and take the driver, passanger and six-month-old baby to safety.
A spokesperson for the fire station said: "Today Red Watch and On Call firefighters rescued a motorist from floodwater near Creech St Michael.
"Crews used flood suits and wading poles to assist the driver, passenger and 6 month old baby."
