CHEFS from across Exmoor are joining the team at the Farmers Arms, in Combe Florey, next Wednesday, January 25, to launch this year’s Exmoor Food Fest.

The event, which was launched in 2015, runs throughout February across the area.

Participating restaurants will be offering special deals and host events to showcase the amazing hospitality and food Exmoor has to offer.

The launch dinner, hosted by the Farmers Arms, sees four chefs from across Exmoor join their team for the night.

The line-up promises an exciting menu:

  • Jade Shorney (private chef) - canapés;
  • Anita-Clare Field (La Petite Bouchée, Witheridge) - starter;
  • Gavin Athanasiou (La Chasse) - fish course;
  • Joseph Roach and Sophie Rogers (Farmers Arms) - main course;
  • Tim Zekki (Duende, Wiveliscombe) - dessert.

“It’s been a tough few years for everyone and we can all do with a bit of cheering up. And the return of a month-long celebration of our region’s best hospitality will do just that,” said Elke Koessling-Winzer, founder and organiser of the Exmoor Food Fest.

“We are delighted that Masterchef judge William Sitwell will join us at the launch to welcome guests and chefs.”

From country pubs to Michelin Guide listed restaurants will again showcase their best food and their fantastic staff.

Many venues also have deals on accommodation during the Exmoor Food Fest.

The 2023 Exmoor Food Fest sees the return of some firm favourites in Somerset as well as a few exciting newcomers.

"The Exmoor Food Fest is an industry-led event. Exmoor chefs prompted the start of it in 2015, and it’s been going well ever since (apart from 2021 when everything was closed). Not only is the Exmoor Food Fest a great opportunity for locals and visitors to explore new restaurants and venues, it also helps our hospitality sector to survive,” added Ms Koessling-Winzer.

The complete list of restaurants can be found on the Exmoor Food Fest website (www.exmoorfoodfest.com) - bear in mind that some restaurants will only sign up in late January, so it’s always a great idea to check back. Exmoor Food Fest also has a newsletter which provides the latest updates.
