A PUB in Somerset has been named among the best 100 gastropubs in the UK according to the Estrella Damm 2023 list.
Woods Bar and Restaurant in Dulverton came in 45th place on the list.
The Estrella Damm Gastropub Awards is created each year by an academy of several hundred judges spread throughout the UK who voted for who they think are the must-see gastropubs.
The academy is made up of food industry experts, chefs, operators, food writers, and journalists, all of whom keep a close eye on the market and the trends within.
The 51-100 section had been revealed day-by-day on the social media of Top 50 Gastropubs ahead of the Top 50 being released on Monday, January 23.
What does Woods Bar & Restaurant have to offer?
On its website, Woods Bar and Restaurant states: "Our pub offers everything from a hand-built, rustic interior right the way through to a continentally inspired menu and an award-winning wine list."
It adds that it is home to "a wonderful dining experience" where it creates traditional English food with a continental twist.
Under the guidance of chef Ed Heard, they work hard to create "inspiring dishes" which make full use of local produce.
Examples of dishes include Confit Duck and Foie Gras Terrine, Goats Cheese, Asparagus and Wild Garlic Risotto and Stem Ginger Pannacotta.
Alongside all of that, there is an "award-winning" list of wines you can choose from as well as Real Ales and an array of local spirits.
