A village in Somerset has been named among the top 45 most romantic honeymoon destinations in the UK, according to new research.

Mells was ranked 41st on the list from Fabulous Bingo and was the only representation from Somerset.

Fabulous Bingo conducted analysis having referred to articles displaying the ‘prettiest’ locations mapped nationwide, including FBM Holidays, Condé Nast Traveller and Which, to form a combined seed list of the most romantic honeymoon destinations in the UK.

A total of 45 locations were identified and investigated for the list from this process.

To determine which honeymoon destination is most popular, the site utilised Google search volume through average searches per month, having searched for the name of the location only.

Mells had accumulated 1,900 average monthly searches to place on the list.

What does Mells have to offer?

On the Mells village website, it says that it is known for its "lovely architecture, ancient streets and dramatic location".

If you're looking for a romantic honeymoon there are plenty of cosy inns and cottages to accommodate you.

Additionally, there are a few small but intimate spots to dine out and get a drink, such as the Talbot Inn.

On top of all of that, the village itself is beautiful, making it the perfect setting to relax after a wedding is over.
