CUSTOMERS wishing to visit a bank in Taunton are being told to temporarily make a 24-mile round trip to another branch.
The HSBC UK in North Street has been closed since the end of last week (lunchtime on Friday, January 20) and won't re-open until 9.30am on Thursday, February 9.
Notices in the windows say the temporary 20-day closure is for "essential maintenance".
They add: "We are sorry if you need to access this branch."
Customers are advised that the nearest HSBC UK branch is in Fore Street, Bridgwater.
Alternatively, they can access some of the bank's services at the post office in St James Street, Taunton.
Otherwise, they can access remote banking services via the mobile banking app, the bank's website or by phone - personal customers should call 03457 404 404 and business customers can call 03457 60 60 60.
The notices add: "We can't wait to welcome you back when we're looking at out best."
